A friend and I took a walk today near the shoreline of beautiful Lake Champlain. It was a humid morning with a strong breeze which kept us cool as we chatted about all kinds of things as we always love to do. Something colorful caught my eye in the grass in front of one of the houses. It was an American flag which upon further inspection was attached to a broken pole. No one was home, but it seemed important to remove it from the ground. I placed it carefully on the porch where it would be safe until the residents returned. They will be happy that it wasn't blown across the street in to the lake, I'm sure.
