Supporting local business is the right thing to do for a number of reasons. These proprietors have chosen to establish in your community because they believe in serving the residents. They have made a commitment to the area and are willing to support regional projects. This is the place you will find your neighbors giving you a chance to catch up on their doings. I stopped by one such business today and found the owner hard at work. She is dedicated to running a classy shop which has made a difference in this village. I handed her a notepad and pen set I had found recently and told her to keep it if she could use it or pass it on if it wasn't her style. She quickly replied that it would be handy for some record keeping she does. A little acknowledgement of an appreciation for a business goes a long way. Tell those local shopkeepers how much you enjoy their establishment.
