| Soccer Moms |
The beginning of the school year also means the start of the scholastic soccer season. In an educational institution that does not offer football, soccer reigns. The fans, both students and adults, passionately support the boys and girls teams at all levels from junior high modified through varsity. Although our school district does not charge admission to sporting events, the annual pre-season tournament is an important fund raiser organized by the Booster Club. Tonight was the big championship game under the lights, and the crowd was enthusiastic. I put a little extra cash in my pocket before heading up to the field to pay for the entrance fees of a few of the spectators. This will allow them to buy an additional hot chocolate or dish of nachos to enjoy during the match. I am always pleased to be able to support programs that have given so much to our youth.
