Thirsty Plants |
There are barrels of flowers placed around the village to add a splash of color to the neighborhoods. By this point in the summer, they begin to look bedraggled. Among the multitude of tasks assigned to the village employees is watering these plants, but there are certainly many responsibilities much more important that require immediate attention. I told the superintendent of public works that I would water the barrel near my house today. With my watering can in hand, I walked to the corner to give those flowers a hefty drink. They seemed to perk up after that. I hope I can revive them for everyone to enjoy during these last days of summer.
